External Affairs

ASD plays a central role with its members regarding the Association's interactions with European institutions and key Brussels stakeholders.

Through the association and its External Affairs Commission,  ASD promotes the policies and views agreed in ASD Commissions as well as monitoring developments in the EU institutions which may have impact on the industry while delivering advanced warnings on pertinent issues.
The EAC also manages the ASD responses as appropriate to EC consultations, the drafting of legislative proposals and the adoption of legislative acts.

The Commission is chaired by Mr Bill Giles, Director General Europe of BAE Systems in Brussels and the Vice chairman is Ms Mireille van der Meij, General Manager Fokker Aerostructures EC Liaison Office.
