Security

We live in a world with increasing and stronger needs in security measures in either transportation means or solutions and infrastructures, citizens identification and protection. ASD members are eager to provide secure, regulated technology products and advanced services to security experts.

The ASD Security Commission builds up its activities in the security domain with the main objective of promoting and supporting the creation of a genuinely European Security systems and services market.

The priorities for the Security Commission are:

Increase competitiveness and reduce security market fragmentation by:

  • Developing at EU level a comprehensive and sustainable European Industrial Security Policy

  • Continue fostering a structured Public-Private Dialogue and Cooperation between the demand and supply side.

  • Establishing European Security Programmes with clear operational objectives, coordinated technology developments, strategy for implementation of innovation and investment of adequate resources at EC and MS level, in the main envisaged areas:

    • EU Borders Control (Management and Surveillance, in particular Maritime Surveillance),

    • EU Civil Protection, including crisis management,

    • The Protection of Critical Infrastructures (including cyber security and air transportation security).

  • Space capabilities, to increase situation awareness, should also be developed to support priority domains.

  • Foster, when possible, the development of Regulations and Legislations at EU level to secure industrial investments on development and implementation.
