Agenda highlights

Opening conversation: a European industrial deal to complement the Green Deal

The recently published Draghi Report highlights the challenges faced by Europe and the need for a paradigm shift where industry is again put at the top of the EU agenda through a joint action plan for competitiveness and decarbonisation. A new industrial deal should complement the EU Green Deal. This panel will discuss the need for an industrial deal for civil aeronautics and aviation as part of the wider EU industrial deal.

Special interview: EASA’s role in certifying new technologies

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of civil aviation within the EU and beyond. As aviation embraces emerging technologies, EASA is at the forefront, ensuring that new advancements meet rigorous safety standards. In this exclusive interview, EASA’s Executive Director will explore the agency's approach to certifying innovative technologies, its global influence on aviation safety, and the challenges it faces as the industry evolves.

What next for European civil aviation research?

New technology is, together with sustainable aviation fuels, a key component of the EU civil aviation sector’s Destination 2050 Roadmap and the global ICAO LTAG goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The European joint undertakings, Clean Aviation and SESAR, as well as other collaborative research, play a key role in this respect. This panel will discuss what is next for European civil aviation research in light of the ongoing preparation of EU Framework Programme 10 (FP10).
