Camille Grand takes office as new ASD Secretary General
ASD is pleased to announce that Camille Grand officially takes office today as its new Secretary General, following his election by the Board in May.
Camille Grand brings a wealth of experience from senior international positions. Until recently, he served as Distinguished Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), where he led the organisation’s work on defence and technology. From 2016 to 2022, he was NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defence Investment, overseeing capability delivery, missile defence, aviation, and armaments cooperation. Prior to that, he directed the Fondation pour la recherche stratégique (FRS), France’s foremost defence and security think tank, and held senior roles within the French government. His full biography can be found on the ASD website here.
He succeeds Jan Pie, who has been ASD Secretary General since 2013. To ensure a smooth handover, Jan Pie will continue as Strategic Advisor to ASD President Micael Johansson, CEO of Saab, until the end of the year.
Camille Grand also takes over from Jan Pie as Chairman of the Montreal-based International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA).
