EASA Stakeholder Advisory Body new chair, strengthening industry dialogue

François Duclos, Airbus Executive Expert, has been elected Chair of the EASA Stakeholder Advisory Body, strengthening industry–regulator collaboration on aviation safety.

ASD is pleased to share that François Duclos, Airbus Executive Expert in Certification, Rulemaking, and Airworthiness, has been elected as Chair of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Stakeholder Advisory Body (SAB). The election took place during the SAB’s plenary meeting in Cologne last week. François Duclos has previously served as Vice Chair of the SAB and has been one of the six ASD members of the SAB Plenary for a number of years. The active participation of representatives from industry in the Stakeholder Advisory Body is part of the ongoing collaboration between industry and regulators to address evolving developments and challenges in aviation.

The EASA SAB plays a crucial role in maintaining dialogue between EASA and industry stakeholders, serving as one of the agency’s two primary advisory bodies alongside the Member States Advisory Body. The SAB brings together representatives from across the aviation sector, including commercial operators, manufacturers, air traffic management, airports, training industries, and drone operators. This enables industry stakeholders to contribute to strategic priorities, shape regulatory developments, and provide feedback on the implementation of aviation regulations and policies.

The SAB’s inclusion of so many diverse communities from across the sector ensures that voices from all corners of the aviation ecosystem are heard, contributing to a safe, efficient, and forward-looking aviation industry for us all.
