EDN study group visits ASD to explore industry perspectives
ASD hosts the European Defence Network study group to discuss EU defence policy and industry challenges.
The European Defence Network (EDN) study group visited ASD on 24 March for an in-depth discussion on EU defence policy, strategic challenges, and industry perspectives.
Participants explored the strategic and industrial dimensions of EU defence policy with ASD’s Defence and Security Director, Burkard Schmitt, focusing on key initiatives shaping Europe’s security landscape. ASD Communication Manager Benedikt Weingärtner discussed with the participants about the perception of the defence industy among the wider public and young people.
This visit builds on ASD’s ongoing collaboration with EDN and its sponsorship of the EDN Youth Seminar and Conference to bring together young professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss the future of European defence. ASD is committed to promoting dialogue and knowledge-sharing among the next generation of defence professionals.
