Responsibilities

Lead as host of ASD 2026! Showcase your country's industry with our support.

The host will play a crucial role in supporting the successful delivery of the congress. ASD will retain overall responsibility for the event, including decision-making, budget management, and execution, with financing through registration fees and sponsorships. The host is expected to provide essential support in areas such as logistics, local coordination, sponsorship engagement, and academic programming.

The event is designed to cover its costs, including overhead expenses such as staff time and infrastructure needed for planning and execution. The overhead costs of both ASD and the host organisation will be proportionally accounted for in the break-even budget. Any surplus beyond the break-even point, as well as any potential losses, will be shared between ASD and the host.

A Local Organising Committee (LOC) should be established to serve as the primary liaison with ASD. This team will assist in overseeing local logistics and arrangements, securing high-level speakers, and facilitating engagement with government and industry stakeholders. Additionally, the LOC will be expected to support fundraising efforts to attract sponsorships that enhance the event’s offerings.

While ASD will take the lead on infrastructure, communication, and programme coordination, the host is encouraged to provide logistical support in collaboration with a local event management company. Together, we aim to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience that reinforces the Convention as a pivotal event within the ASD calendar.
